Clean tech company CALAB (CEO Lee Seung-wook) announced on the 7th that it was finally selected for the ultra-gap open innovation project organized by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Start-up Promotion Agency.
The ultra-gap open innovation challenge selects five startups with high potential in cooperation with large companies and public companies in the top 10 areas of the super-gap, and supports super-gap projects, additional points, and separate collaboration funds.
In the evaluation of this project, CALAB was recognized for its technological discrimination in materials that satisfy both sustainability and economic feasibility as a filter material for domestic air conditioning, along with the localization and eco-friendly collaboration of hydrogen fuel cell power generation and air supply filters for combined power generation with Korea Southern Power, which is responsible for about 10% of domestic electricity supply. It is known that it has been recognized for its high value as a next-generation environmental material company through having the only green technology certified in Korea.
Im Jin-seok, head of CALAB's business strategy division, said, "Through this open innovation challenge, we plan to commercialize and commercialize next-generation eco-friendly filter materials for hydrogen fuel cell power generation along with southern power generation, and based on this, we plan to expand to transportation fields such as hydrogen cars."
